In order to ensure proper production of livestock products by achieving the SDGs by 2030, the market system will be strengthened, product diversification, food safety ensured and cattle insurance will be introduced. To motivate the farmers in the management of modern cattle farms, yard meetings will be organized, a smart livestock village will be set up in the upazila and arrangements will be made to visit the model farms. Farmers will be sensitized to adopt artificial insemination technology in collaboration with farmer training, breeding shows and field assistants and volunteers. Campus nurseries and exhibition nurseries at farmer level will be set up to facilitate the cultivation of improved varieties of grass. In order to ensure the supply of quality cow feed throughout the year, steps will be taken to create a grass market among the farmers in collaboration with the NATP project, including the spread of hay processing and raw grass conservation technology. In collaboration with the LDDP project, farmers will be assisted in market management by introducing value added measures for livestock products. Farmers will be motivated and made aware of disease prevention activities by organizing vaccination, treatment and deworming camps in each union. Farmers will be trained to get acquainted with modern farm management, adapt to climate change and make up for the lack of technical knowledge. Incentives will be provided to successful farmers through rewards, certificates, etc. Steps will be taken to update the database to increase the institutional capacity. All in all, the Upazila Livestock Department will continue to work to implement the action plan already adopted by the Department of Livestock to achieve the 9 objectives and 26 targets of the SDG related to the livestock sector of the country.
